MLP 24bit/96KHz incorrect channel assignments

Postby boondocks » 16 Aug 2009 00:42

Using 1.0.1.
I have several ripped MLP files from my DVDA discs. These are 24bit/96KHz 5.1, and for sake of conversation are
from LA Woman by the Doors, and Speaking in Tongues by Talking Heads.
These do not play correctly. The Surround Right speaker seems as if it's (faintly) playing the LFE (.1) channel.
The Surround Left carries the vocals (incorrectly).

My Creative player and Digion Pro play these files correctly.

24bit/48KHz 5.1 that I encoded from my personal music, with Surcode MLP seem to play correctly.

Also, version 1.0 does not play some dts 5.1 wav at all. Not sure if fixed in 1.0.1.

No response necessary, just saying. And please don't ask for files, these are rips from my commercial discs.
Thanks for all the good work you folks do.

Your VLC player is drunk by 5.1 MLP (TrueHD)! LOL
No seriously, try NightliesBuild VLC 1.1.0 trunk-20090814-2204. (That one did work correct with my DVD-A *.AOB 5.1 files.) Download here: http://nightlies.videolan.org/
or check DVD-A topic: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=58910&start=15
