Streaming OGG problem since 1.0

Postby morespray » 22 Jul 2009 20:39

Hello, some friends occasionally broadcast a live dj mix using traktor and it works fine on older versions of vlc - but the latest version 1.0 has loads of buffering problems when the track changes. This doesn't happen in 0.9.6. I've checked the http buffer settings are the same - 1200ms.
Any idea what's going on, or if I can supply some more information somehow?

Can you share the command line?

I'm not using the command line, there is just a link to an m3u file which opens in vlc automatically. The m3u file contains one line which is the icecast server that traktor is sending to.
Sorry if I'm not being clear, there is one computer which is running traktor, traktor sends audio to the icecast server which then relays the audio to everyone connected. Traktor will also send track data when a new track is bought into the mix, it is at this point where vlc1.0 loses the buffer and there's silence until it refills the buffer. vlc0.9.6 continues playing without interruption.

Sure,
http://radio.tmb.dj/live.m3u
or http://radio.tmb.dj:80/live
either should work.
This is a live broadcast, it's on now. He should be playing for 2-3 hours.
If it's convenient for you, we are also on irc - quakenet, I can PM you the channel name if you want. Irc is not important, I just thought I would mention it if it makes it easier for you.
thanks :)

Those streams seem to be offline now.
