You could try Winamp 5 or Media Player Classic Home Cinema.

Random button is at the bottom of the playlist.
Open playlist is Media->Open Files.

A solution for this troll (acts like a true Microsoft evangelist) is:
-press the powerbutton on your computer for about 5 seconds.
or
-press Ctrl+Alt+Del
or
-uninstall VLC and don't use this forum again.
