Composite for SAA7134 TV Tuner VLC 1.0

Postby Tom-Soja » 14 Jul 2009 17:12

Hey all Free Devolvepers thank all for the sweet Final VLC good things need some time!

I now have found the Option for Viewing easy the S-Video Input of my Saa7134 (Medion Reseller) TV Tuner, i have the Same ``error`` like in every other tv-card programm i must set the Programm to Composite because i get Black/White output. How can i do that? Crawled the settings and dosent found anything

Here my Setting:
Video Input: Xbox 360 RGB PAL 60Hz -> S-Video (Saa7134 Device)
Sound Input: Xbox 360 RGB -> Line in (Saa7134 Device)
Platform: Windows XP SP3 32 Bit

Other Thing: Got Colors in Vlc if i first start "WinDVR", close it and than use VLC as viewer, But bad Colors RED is displayed as Blue. I must restart the OS (Win XP) to workaround this and get Black/White colors. Its not bad because i throw away windvr if vlc works with colors but it might be a Bug Report sorry if not.

greets

Hmm I have that same saa7134 chipset. I suggest you change regional settings (pal/ntsc) for the black and white thing, or use advanced options when you're selecting capture card and set the video pid to 1-4, just experiment...
Btw, what resolution do you get? I don't know why but vlc won't let me select anything higher than 320x240 which is very small and unviewable. My card can do 720x480.

I made a little spelling mistake by saying video pid instead on pin ;)
I hope this helps (look for the video pin option): http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/2655/advancedj.jpg

You are right. They aren't saved by default, but you can input your default values via Tools -> Preferences... (Show Settings: All) Input/Codecs -> Access modules -> DirectShow
