Ghosting on this video VLC 0.9.9

Postby Excalibur » 03 Jun 2009 16:28

Here is the link for sample: http://rapidshare.com/files/240374716/STales.avi.html

For example, you will see ghosts on the left and right side of actors or any object.
Movie runs OK on other players and external codecs.

I tried everything, from changing output module to hardware YUV-RGB....etc. Nothing helps. Even Verbose levels 1 and 2 are not saying anything.

I found what is causing this. Sharpen or "augumented contrast between contours". Which I set to be automaticly on when starting VLC.
When sharpen is on, there is flickering about few mm at bottom, and even when Sigma slider is at 0 this flickering stays but ghosting disappeares. When off everythnig is fine.
Deleting %appdata/vlc does nothing.

Strangely, only this video is affected.

I even tried VirtualDub-it to see if something is wrong with coding, but it's the same.

Any news about this problem?

P.S. I tested movie on Crystal Player which has sharpening effect, and sharpening functions normally.

Sharpen can cause artifacts.

VLC and Crystal Player use different sharpen algorithm, that is why the effect isn't the same.
