Hi,
I use VLC primarily to watch my camcorder videos or TV shows I missed on Sky. I invariably switch deinterlacing on via the user interface on the VLC screen (right click > video > deinterlace > <xxxxxxxx>). I recently discovered on the VideoLAN wiki that I can make VLC default the use of deinterlace via the Preferences menus (Tools > Preferences > Show Settings <All> > Video > Filters)
Having done this and selected Linear as the Deinterlace (I use this or BOB as it's recommended on the videoLAN wiki / 100fps.com) method I've noticed that the following error gets logged over and over again (multiple times per second) in the messages screen throughout playback
deinterlace error: doubling the frame rate is not supported yet
main warning: late picture skipped (938792)
The same error appears if I use Bob as the default method.
These errors do not appear in the messages screen if I use the screen interface (right click > video > deinterlace > <xxxxxxxx>). Does this mean the Bob / Linear do not work at all or just if I implement them by default via saved preferences?
I am using VLC 0.98a on Windows XP. I searched the forum for similar issues but couldn't see anything, apologies if I've missed it.
Thanks / Regards
Tony
