vlc plugin for firefox

Postby boom3d » 11 Mar 2009 23:00

Hi There,

I have VLC 0.98 and firefox 3.0.7. The vlc video plugin isn't working for me.

Its choppy!!!... it stops the movie after a few seconds ..... and doesn't continue...there are no controls to rewind to pause..nothing..... it doesn't hang the system or crash firefox...it just doesn't work properly. I disable the Windows media plugin just so there is no conflict....

I checked firefox setup..(about:plugins) the plugin is associated with all the video file types....

Is it designed to suck this bad? or is there something wrong?

Thanks,

Tom

I went to the page, the video loads fine.... but still no video controls.

It looks as if that is not a feature of the plugin..... making it quite useless.

You can find a Greasemonkey script here: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/25318

I'm using Firefox 3.5b4pre and VLC 0.9.8a. Plugin is installed and videos play fine however there are NO video controls. I can't adjust volume, I can't skip ahead to a different part of the video, etc. How can I fix this other than installing greasemonkey which I don't need. Firefox is already bloated enough. (nightly from http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win32/latest/ still has the same "no video controls problem")

I have the same problem. I am trying to develope a web application and would like to add a video control system using javascript, however i cannot manage to make the controls work. They dont work in my firefox, either in my web or in the examples that i found on http://vlc.revolunet.com I assume it is a problem of my configuration, however i cant find what seems to be the problem.

Im using firefox 3.0.11 and also tried in the new firefox 3.5 on windows xp.

Thanks for your help!
