DirectShow Configuration

Hello, please take a look:



i want to klick the two CONFIGURATION buttons on the right side.... but nothing happens.
this is version 0.8.6.c because with newer ones i have streaming problems.
in the 0.9.x versions this dialog works.... but not here..... what can i do?

just tested it in 0.8.6i and I have the same problem.
Lucky i have never needed direct show...

One observation that "could" have something to do with it is that we are both running vista, but too me looks more like the functions arent assigned to the buttons.

Since 0.8.6 development has stopped in favour ov 0.9.x development you may have to wait until your streaming problems are sorted.
Have you reported the problems you have streaming in later versions, might speed up a fix.

Or there may be an easy fix in 0.8.6 that could enable the configurations.

You get any messages to VLC log when clicking the buttons? (Tools -> Messages... set Verbosity to 2 before opening Capture device menu)

log says:

dshow error: didn't find device: ( for the top config-button (video)
dshow error: for the 2nd button (audio)

but the device hauppauge pvr-350 exists and i can watch it with vlc. just CANT konfig.
if i install a vlc-0.9.x beside this 0.8.6. i can open the config-dialog with the 0.9.x
and the shown picture reacts on changes. but this su**s for just config always open another vlc......

Must be issue with whitespaces in device name.

just run a test on this in 0.9.8

Video config still does nothing (no log messages)
Audio config works.

I only have 1 version of VLC installed at a time and run vista.

ok and this means i can't do anything in version 0.8.6?
because this is the only where streaming works.......

or how can i rename my devices without wihtespaces?

Editing .inf files or modifying .dll files. I suggest avoiding both and waiting till someone fixes the issue.
