Deinstalling VLC Player (9.6)

Postby tita10 » 02 Dec 2008 17:05

Sorry, i install in my Win 98 the wrong Player Version. Therefore i get a bad color playback. Affer reinstall the older Version 8.6 no changes will be seen.

How can i manually fix this problem without seting up a new Win 98?

Go to:
C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC

And run vlc.exe. If that is still 0.9.6 then close it and run the uninstall.exe also located in the same folder.

Then delete preferences and cache files. In Windows Explorer (not sure if this will work with Win98SE) address bar enter:
%appdata%

And delete the "vlc" folder.

To ensure a new clean install restart Windows and download a fresh copy of VLC 0.8.6i (or which ever version of 0.8.6 works more reliably with Win98SE):

Arite.
