Postby napouser » 05 Nov 2008 00:23

again sorry if already posted

major bug most divx subtitles show only 1st line totally skipping 2nd line
u need to disable advance settings subtitle formating for this to stop
is that working as intended?

Could you give more information, please?

Like, with DivX subtitles you mean subtitle found inside .divx files, or .sub or .srt subtitles or something else?

Is there some sample file you can share to us?

most .srt files tend to do this, i am not sure about dvds and .sub
whats happening is that many subtitles of the movie show only the upper line and fail to show the lower one
at the beggining u just missing stuff from the dialogs thinking that whoever made the subs did a terrible job
then starts to be consistent and u just try lets say classik media player and realize its a vlc problem
then u remove subs formatting and problem solved

I must be blind  I can't find any advanced subtitle formatting option from Tools -> Preferences... (Show settings: All) Video -> Subtitles/OSD

pref -> show all -> codecs - > other codecs -> subs -> formatted subs

dunno why this has to be unchecked to see a movie subtitle properly but still

Thanks. I found it now. Could you provide subtitle file or part of it, which shows this issue?

I don't know. I am not the one who fights with the text rendering stuff.
