0.9.5 for Windows

Postby Geester » 01 Nov 2008 01:06

Was wondering why it's advertised as released,when it's not even available for download.
Seems pretty silly. :roll:

Because they don't have anyone working on the windows version full time.

We'll get it eventually or they'll skip it like they did 0.9.3 and we'll get a binary version of 0.9.6 soon.

I queried the non-appearance of the Windows version in a separate thread a week ago and j-b replied to suggest it might be up the next day. That was a few days ago now so I'm assuming the vulnerability (tivo plug-in mainly?) isn't all that urgent a problem after all.

I did the 0.9.5 build, and while they fix some issues (skins crashing at start) they introduce some bugs in H264 that I am trying to solve, but believe me, this is NOT easy.

There are way many more ways to help than just coding:
* Documentation
* Forum help
* Clean bug reports with test case that the developer can understand
* Machine administration

etc...
