Video window closes between files in playlist

In v .8.X I could have a playlist full of videos and one would play after the other without any disturbance in between each video. I'm having problems with .8.4 crashing at random times, so I upgraded to .9.4 but now when one video in the playlist is finished, the video window closes, momentarily showing the desktop, and then the next video plays.

Is there a setting I can alter that will let one video immediately play after the other without minimizing/closing the video window?

0.9 doesn't recycle Vouts. Use 0.8. or hope that we can fix that in 1.0

Got it, will have to figure out why .8 would close at random times then. Not crash with dialog, just finish a video and close.

Run it with logger interface, it might reveal something.

Yep, I'm having the same problem with 0.9.2 & 0.9.4 where the movie playback is interupted beteen files. (I rip DVDs to the hard drive and watch them later.) What's worse is that I need to re-enable the subtitles every time the next file is played.

If you watch DVD-Video stuff, use Media -> Open Disc...

However, I discovered that Bowa's fix for getting DVD menus to work via the Explorer context menu also fixes the window closing issue listed in this thread!

Hi,
VLC window closes in between video files.(Even if they are of identical size and file format)
This issue is present in all the 0.9.x releases.
Hope someone fixes the issue soon.

You can open VIDEO_TS folders from hard drive using Media -> Open Disc..., it isn't limited to real optical discs.

Hi,
Im using VLC plugin in VB application.(I cant use bowa's workaround)

I have a very large playlist and the video closes in between two songs.

VLC is a very light weight,fantastic plugin for developers.But this issue makes its fame get down.

I feel this would be the major problem or infact a bug that VLC developers should work on immediately.Else VLC will lose its reputation.

Hope someone fixes this problem soon.
