Bug with "Open Directory" ?

Postby Bendit » 19 Aug 2008 18:22

Hello. Just a quick note to tell you that VLC is my primary media player and I LOVE IT. It's fantastic.

Having said that, please allow me to report something "funky".

I have DVD medias with one "VIDEO_TS" folder on them.

If I open them with the "Open Directory" option from the "File" menu, it plays but it stutters sound and video every 15 secs or so (it's not constant). There is also way more hard drive activity than if I use:

"C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" "dvdsimple://F:\VIDEO_TS"

If I open my movies with the above command, ALL IS WELL AND PLAYS AWESOME. Also there is less hard drive (IDE access? the red light on my computer case) access, red access light and DVD drive light barely blinks.

WEIRD?

Any thoughts????

Thanks and CHEERS!

EDIT: I'm using the version before 0.8.6e under Windows VISTA. I've used VLC for years and years. Again, GREAT PRODUCT!

Use 0.9.0 and the Open Disc panel for that.

Thanks for the info.

When does version "9" come out?

There are big changes in version "9" when it comes to playing modes?

Cheers!
