need help with .wmv files playing properly

Postby larrybowa » 29 Jul 2008 22:47

Any time I attempt to view a .wmv file with VLC, the audio and video get out of sync within a few seconds. Also, the video tends to freeze every now and then while the audio continues along just fine. I have not had any problems with other types of video files. I was wondering if there are some settings that I need to change. Please help if you have any ideas or suggestions.

Thanks

If you have WMP 10 installed, you could try DMO option.

Nightlies might also work better.

Thank you for the links. However, I am sorta stupid about this stuff and was not sure what to do regarding the DMO and how to fix my problem with .wmv files. And actually I have WMP 11; I don't know if that changes anything. If you can spell it out for my dumbass that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

IIRC DMO from WMP 11 doesn't work with VLC. So your best bet is to try nightlies and see if they work any better.
