frame skip on my laptop not on my pc

Hi ,

some very strange happen when I try to play animation HD mkv on my laptop using vdeolan , I endup keep getting frame drop/skip . but when I play it on my pc , such things not happen .

my PC spec .
- CPU: C2D 2GHZ
- RAM : 2 GB
- build in graphic card Intel 82945G chip -- 128mb ram
- OS : winXP sp2


my laptop spec
- CPU: C2D 2.2GHZ
- RAM : 2 GB
- graphic : Nvidia 8600mGT --- 512MB ram
- OS : win XP sp 3


no matter how you compare , my laptop spec is better so how come I get frame skip on my laptop but not on my PC . am I missing something ? all drivers I get from the laptop manufacture installed properly . what am I missing ?

Laptops usually have more installed background software that take some CPU power. If the video is h.264, could try if
