No audio with dtswav or ac3wav files & DTS or DD audio CDs

Postby ontherocks » 02 Jun 2008 18:27

I dot not get any audio in my HT system when playing dtswav or ac3wav files as well as DTS or DD Audio CDs.
I have checked "Use S/PDIF when available" and "Win32 waveOut extension output". While playing the above media VLC's audio does get switched to "A/52 over S/PDIF" automatically, but there is no audio from the HT system.
(.ac3 & .dts files play perfectly. DVD's play perfectly)

You have tried nightly builds? http://nightlies.videolan.org/
http://www.diatonis.com/downloads_dts_ac3.html
I downloaded Dolby Digital Wav from there and it plays fine in my vlc-0.9.0-git-20080515-0003 (audio length is wrong).

EDIT:
I might have misunderstood the problem, so you don't have A/52 over S/PDIF option when you play ac3wav files? If so, neither do I.

(a) I installed the latest nightly build vlc-0.9.0-git-20080531-0003-win32.exe
1) ddwav files got from http://www.diatonis.com/downloads_dts_ac3.html did play perfectly through the Home Theater system, VLC automatically switches to "A/52 over S/PDIF" (as it should), but dtswav files did not even play.
2) With ddwav or dtswav files got from http://www.sr.se/cgi-bin/mall/index.asp?ProgramID=2446
there was no audio from the Home Theater system.
3) dts audio CD's don't play at all.
4) .ac3 files play perfectly but .dts files do not play.

(b) I reverted back to the stable vlc-0.8.6f-win32.exe
1) ddwav files got from http://www.diatonis.com/downloads_dts_ac3.html did play perfectly through the Home Theater system, VLC automatically switches to "A/52 over S/PDIF" (as it should), but with dtswav files there was no audio.
2) With ddwav or dtswav files got from http://www.sr.se/cgi-bin/mall/index.asp?ProgramID=2446
there was no audio from the Home Theater system.
3) dts audio CD's - no audio from the Home Theater system.
4) .dts & .ac3 files play perfectly

[I have my 5.1 channel Home Theater system connected to my PC through Coaxial cable via a S/PDIF coaxial output from the PC soundcard]
