This is a very interesting problem... If you analyze it you will find that it has direct relationship to the time the system has been running.... What I mean is that if the Windows is running for 20 minutes then you can FFWD in the first 20 minutes of the video without any problem. But if you try to Fast Forward after 20 minutes the video will freeze for a long time...
THIS DID THE TRICK IT IMPROVED MY MP4 BIG TIME-YOU SAVED AND MADE MY DAY THANKS A TRILLION!!!Ok,
I have found out how to reduce the time it takes to skip forward...but with draw backs!!!
In Preferences, I clicked on "Advanced Options" and the went to Input / Codecs -- Access Modules -- FIle and I increased the "Caching value in ms" option to 8000. (brought it up as far as 20000 but did make it any better then 8000). It takes longer for the file to start playing. When I skip forward now it takes about 6-8secs to start playing again and this is now the same for AVI
Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?
