2 prolems im having with vlc

im not sure if these are bugs or just an isolated problem but when i goto open any file by clicking on it i get this error

the 2nd problem im having is my flac files will stop completely in mid play if i go past the part it stops at it plays fine but if i play it in WMP it works fine and plays the whole way through

For first one, if resetting VLC settings don't help, then you may have to edit file association thingy and remove some extra commands that VLC may get.

For second one, have you tried nightly builds?

ive have been using the latest nightly build and it still happens

Then you could send sample file(s) to ftp://ftp.videolan.org/incoming/ and short txt file with same name that explains the problem and hopefully someone fixes it.
