DVD Decoder for Windows 2000

Postby bgishorty40 » 08 Dec 2007 20:06

I am trying to play a DVD on my PC which has Windows 2000 on it.

I'm getting a message stating that I need to get a DVD decoder.

Where can I get it from???

Thanks

Scott

Are you getting an error when using VLC media player? If so, what version of VLC are you using, and what does the error message say exactly?

Cheers, Arite.

He/she is either using Windows Media Player or another DirectShow based player, because VLC doesn't give errors like this. So basically person in wrong forum also posting his/her email address =)

You need to open VLC, click on file, click on open disc, and make the correct drive is trying to open the disc. I had this problem, but changed the drive VLC should look at and then I was able to play a DVD. I hope that this works.
