Two problems :
First: Gettext 1.6 is not available on cygwin distrib (must compile)

Second: most *.dll files haven't been renamed by change 'cyg' prefix by 'lib' in .libs directory (, then the vlc.exe is corrupted ...

Good Luck getting Cygwin to compile
1. The compile for gettext-0.16.1 does not work.
2. The Cygwin team said they will not add gettext-0.16.1 to the mirrors (Say it is too new. Can you believe that!)
3. I asked the vlc team to add the jvlc.dll to the nightly builds but have no response.
Basically I gave up on trying to compile jvlc any more since I had other functionality that was needed in my app and hoping cygwin or the vlc team would fix the problem or provide workaround at a later date.
