No Visual - Blue Screen with sound

Postby Ric42 » 08 Jul 2007 10:33

Hi,

VLC has suddenly just started giving me a blue screen (but with sound) when i try and play any avi's although it seems to be ok playing dvd video_ts files? (Windows Media Player plays the avi's fine)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled - no luck
I have reset user preferences - no joy
I have uninstalled and installed the most up to date version - nada!

Any ideas would be much appreciated

Try deleting VLC's Preferences folder.

For Windows XP the directory can be found in C:\Documents and Setting\User (you)\Application data (make sure to "show hidden files and folders")\vlc. Delete the entire "vlc" folder, this will reset all of the preferences, plugins and cache.
