VLC media player not closing after use on Windows XP[Solved]

Postby Amitanshu Gour » 15 Jun 2007 14:15

I downloaded VLC media player 2 weeks back and it's quite good in fact great , the only problem that I am coming across is that whenever I try to close VLC media player after use, it just minimizes on the windows task bar and doesn't close :( and I have to use Windows Task Manager to close it :( :( . what should I do? I am using Windows XP. And can you please tell me how I can change the skin :D ,I downloaded one and just don't know how to implement it on VLC media player :?: . Overall it's an excellent media player, the best I have come across :D :D

Thanks.

VLC version: OVER 9000!!!
Operating System: It's...blue screen
Location: Heaven? No no. What's that other place that starts with an "H"? Oh yes: Home. ^_^

If you delete the plugins and cache (Located: C:\Documents and settings\User (you)\Application Data (folder is hidden; make it visible)\vlc) then this may resolve the problem.

As for skins it can be a little tricky. The first way you can try is through the player. Go to: Preferences > (tab) Interface > Main interfaces. Set the Interface module to "Skinnable interface", save and restart VLC.

If that doesn't work for some reason then try this through the start menu: Start > All Programs > VideoLAN > Quick Settings > Interface > Set main interface to skinnable.

Now the rest is simple. Download a skin from the Skins page, unzip the file, go to the directory where you installed VLC and put it in the "Skins" folder. When you want to change a skin just right-click on the interface and "select skin". :)

This whole process will become easier in the next version of VLC.
