H.264 no video displayed

Postby CarlO_321 » 13 Jun 2007 22:36

Hi,
I am trying to watch a H.264 file, encoded with MainConcept.
VLC loads it, the sliding bar shows the running seconds, but nothing is being displayed!
I've tried different setting: unsuccessfully!
Any advice is most welcome, thanks,
Best regards,
Carlo

Dear Moderator,
Thank you for the prompt reply.
Here you can download a sample of the H.264 video.
I am using VLC 0.8.6b and XP SP2 on different hardware, e.g. on dual Xeon 2 GB RAM, notebook etc. What more info can I provide you?
Best regards,
Carlo

I don't believe that VLC has compatibility for H.264 in a MPEG PS container. Try MPEG TS.

I the past MainConcepts did not have compatibility to any thing else other than itself. However this was supposed to be resolved in later versions (2.0.15 or higher).

MPlayer does not open your file either, but CoreAVC opens and plays the file normally under Direct Show using MPC.
