URGENT - need advice

Postby mchmielewski » 10 May 2007 11:46

Hi

I am after a month of testing different players on Swing components and now SWT i came across VLC player. The problem is that JMF is very very slow and it provides only AWT component which mess up my application which uses Swing components. On SWT I found 2 snippets how to embedd MPlayer and Windows Media but my application is written now on Windows platform but in time will be deployed on Linux Ubuntu. So far I got the sample code from JVLC page but using SWT components it does not work fine i.e. i get system errors when I change the path to media file. For dlls I do not use the standard dlls and plugins but the ones that somone posted on megaupload.

Can anyone help me with this??
Can i controll VLC to provide layers for played media suppose i would like to play one movie on the whole screen and another one in PIP mode in lower right corner.

Thanx
Regards
Mariusz

Doubtful you will get an answer on this. VLC does not support third party libraries (plug-ins) and you can't mix Libraries and versions of VLC. It just doesn't work.

Why I just want to use Your Player and JVLC to bind it to my Java APP what is the problem....

So far I just do not understand why this binding is so complicated?
