VLC won't play DVDs

Postby srandy » 29 Apr 2007 12:26

No DVD will play using VLC anymore.
I get the error 'Assertion failed', and some comment about checking the C++ manual.
It was working last week before I downloaded the latest version.
How can this be fixed?

Reset your preferences.
Delete your %appdata%\vlc and %appdata%\libdvdcss folders.

That did NOT fix it for me.

Also, there is a giant memory hole.
Run a playlist for a couple hours and have a look at your memory allocation.

The only time I have seen DVDs not work is when DirectX is NOT the Output module.
