Subs in the black

Postby Djungelurban » 01 Mar 2007 22:33

I'm just wondering if it's possible to have the subs appear in the black area below the movie which appears when in playing widescreen movies in full screen mode. It would make it a lot easier to see the text and that area is just useless as it is.
Thanks!

You think this feature will be added at some time?

Perhaps when it isn't needed or wanted any more or everyone has 16x10 monitors or when SD is dead. Hmm! A year or so! :P

Well, it is very complex since, we have to Rework all the Video Out. So no, it is not planned yet.

If you have tried EVERY other player you will note that it DOESN'T work reliably and what it does on a 16x10 monitor is not nice. :P

The most common use of subs is with Direct Show and Gabest's VSFilter.dll which doesn't support this function. Most players are Direct Show players, VLC is not.
