Win11/intel Xe video color correction not applied to VLC?

Postby alanbork » 15 Dec 2023 23:10

I am trying to make my video playback not so undersaturated and dark. My intel (iris Xe) video card allows me to adjust these settings for video content in it's driver control panel, but this seems to have zero effect in VLC (even after restarting). I can fix the saturation issue by applying the intel color adjustments to all content, but that doesn't help the "too dark" problem unless I want my desktop to be overly bright.

I've tried switching the VLC rendering target mode between the different versions of direct x, etc, with no improvement, but there's a lot of choices maybe I missed the only one that works?

in case it matters I'm using VLC to play back DVD content.

Running VLC Version 3.0.20
Win 11 (all updates applied as for 12/15/2023)
Intel® Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5081
