Which file from the FluidSynth folder do I choose?

Postby FrankY5206 » 10 Jan 2025 02:44

I'm trying to install the FluidSynth plugin so that I might play MIDI files with VLC. I downloaded the program, but I cannot figure out WHERE the right file is.

The unzipped folder has three sub-folders:

bin

include

lib

I can't make head or tails of which file to choose--or which folder it's in. I see no SF2 file anywhere in any of these three folders.

Can someone please de-mystify this process for me?

Thank you.

There is nothing to install, FluidSynth is already built-in by default in VLC.
However, there is no SoundFont file, you need to provide one and to set it up like this:
