Jitter / sync problem

Hello,
I have build my VLC on a Gentoo x64 unstable Linux with two Xeon CPUs and 16 GB RAM. I would like to run VLC for streaming data form a Hauppauge HVR 1900 (USB) to the network. I have posted the problem on the Gentoo mailinglist
http://www.mail-archive.com/gentoo-user ... 27092.html also.
The problem is, that VLC returns errors like:
[0x6bfa68] main input error: ES_OUT_SET_(GROUP_)PCR is called too late (pts_delay increased to 2329 ms)
[0x6bfa68] main input error: ES_OUT_RESET_PCR called
and the video stream can not be shown, because it run sometimes faster and other times slower or breaks down. If I run a cat /dev/video0 > x.mpg and show the stored MPEG file with VLC on my desktop system, everything is fine, video and audio are in sync, so I don't think that it is a kernel / hardware problem. My primary question is, can I found out why the VLC creates this errors. My next question in this case should be, that I have set the correct VLC compilerflags for my system?
Thanks a lot
Phil
