VLC window is not maximized anymore

It is more abou the bug, but till now I cannot get back my access to Trac (thanks to new rules and Trac bug).

Pre vlc-1.1.12
On launching a movie every time I got maximized window (not fullscreen, just maximized).

vlc-1.1.12

Now, I get size of the window equal size of the video. I turned off adjusting the window size to video and in effect VLC starts now with window size equal to size of the controls.

I tried to force VLC to maximize window at start (KDE window special settings), without luck though. It seems VLC in both cases sets the size of window, bad.

Does anyone know a trick how to make VLC window maximized at start? Thank you in advance.

Deactivate the video resizing in preferences.

then it will start as it was stopped the last time. Even if maximized.

It might be design (idea), but the execution is different. I did some tests -- when window is maximized (via max widget or simply resizing the window), on next run vlc window is shrunk to its controls. So the size is NOT preserved. When window has any other size, then it is preserved (with position as well).

Since now I have only latest version I cannot do comparison tests.
