Hi,

VLC 1.1.11 has been compiled for OpenIndiana and was made available via the SFE repository
( http://staticdev.uk.openindiana.org:10003/ ) which is absolutely great.
However, when I try an play any DVD I can only hear the audio track and get no video. I have tried modifying the video settings but without any success.
Is there an easy way to generate useful information to diagnose what the problem is?

Update..
As an aside I also downloaded smplayer from the SFE repository but to get that to display a DVD correctly I had to set 1000 MB cache for DVDs (the default was 0) and to Output driver can be xv, xv (NV17 texture), gl or gl2. It possible for VLC to support this additional Output driver?

Final Update .... applied the latest OpenIndiana updates and VLC is working perfectly.
