Problems with playing audio

Postby avi9526 » 15 Mar 2011 23:53

Ubuntu 10.04
VLC 1.1.7 (but same problems was with 1.1.6)
after OS was loaded, i launch vlc, and get some lags with audio:
1. when mp3 file start playing i heard short sound click
2. on 1 sec of playback - sound disappears for a ~0.4sec and then again appears (have this problem only with mp3)
3. when i launch Blender (3d editing software) for 3..5 secs sound really lags and disappears (sorry, cant find another words to describe this set of a terrible sounds), and then again normal, even if i close Blender and launch it again.
4. i close vlc, launch audioplayer Rhythmbox (it doesn't have such problems), start playing something and then i close it and launch vlc again - sound very good no lags or else (# 1, 2, 3)

What it cant be ? What to do ? Because its hard every time do # 1, 2, 3, 4 to get normal playback.
(sorry for bad eng.)

Fixed for me (bad solution)
Go to the VLC settings, then Audio -> Output module - set to ALSA (in my system "default" equal to pulseaudio, seems its the reason of troubles). Restart VLC, but now, no other software can play music with vlc, vlc playback must be stoped, seems vlc lock alsa (
