with the same dvb-channels.conf vlc 1.0.6 works fine and i can see all dvb-t channels.

with vlc 1.1.5 some channels won't start.

did you solved this issue? Recently I'm using VLC and I have the same problem. Only with VLC. I use it with Linux, and if I use mplayer all works fine, so I think it is a problem confined to VLC.

I find this solution that work for me.

Start vlc with the --dvb-budget-mode parameter.

You can try this:

vlc -vvvv dvb:// :dvb-adapter=0 --dvb-frequency=698000000 --program=4006 --dvb-bandwidth=8 --dvb-budget-mode

or simply

vlc yourchannel.conf --dvb-budget-mode

and ALL Mediaset channel work fine !!!

This can mean two things: your DVB device driver is buggy, or the program table sent by your broadcaster is invalid. Either way, you should not expect a solution from VLC side.

I think my problem can be related to this topic.
At this time, in Rome, the channel.conf file shows some couples of channels slightly different:
and (please note the different SID at the very end of the string)

or
and Using VLC media player 2.0.1 Twoflower (revision 2.0.1-0-gf432547) only one channel in each couple can be watched
Using VLC media player 1.0.6 Goldeneye both channels can be watched.

Any idea for that?

I would try to edit the name at the beginning of the line to ensure that for each line there is a different name and not only different by an extra blank which may disappear or not (depending on the vlc-version) when vlc is parsing the name to create an entry for the playlist.

For example:
and you should see: CANALE5A and CANALE5B in your playlist.

I am also using vlc-2.0.1 with DVB-T and it works very well with several channels on the same multiplex and only different by the SID a the end.

In the log files parsing is fine and I found nothig strange.
