grab from bt878 s-video ?

Trying to use VLC to grab video from a BT878 card (Osprey 200/250) via the s-video input on the card. (once I can do this I'll worry about transcoding and streaming out which I can already do w/ a usb camera).

However, everything I try either results in an error about opening the v4l2 device OR I get just a blue screen instead of my video input.

Ideas?
