interrupted DVD playback

Postby friesia » 19 Jan 2010 08:18

I've been trying to play DVD .iso images with VLC (downloaded or copied with DVD Decrypter) on Gentoo, and the video/sound keep stopping/resuming all the time.
These are error messages that appear continuously:

Code: Select all

[0x7ff3ac0015d8] main input error: ES_OUT_SET_(GROUP_)PCR is called too late, increasing pts_delay to 300 ms [0x7ff3ac0015d8] main input error: ES_OUT_RESET_PCR called [0x7ff3ac03cbc8] libmpeg2 decoder error: DpbUnlinkPicture called on an invalid picture [0x7ff3ac03cbc8] libmpeg2 decoder error: DpbUnlinkPicture called on an invalid picture
Those files are played with no problems using vlc dvdsimple:// or mplayer dvd://. Other video files are played fine as well.
Non-encrypted DVD discs (from /dev/hdb) are ok, too. But encrypted ones have this problem.
x86_64, vlc version 1.0.4, libmpeg2 0.5.1-r1, libdvdread 4.1.3_p1168, libdvdcss 1.2.10

I'm having the same problem on gentoo amd64 as well, though VLC worked fine with ISOs until a recent system update. I've tried using both versions 1.0.6 and 1.1.0 and the problem persists. I believe my other libraries are same as the OP's Any idea what's going on here?
