i run sudo apt-get install gettext and sudo apt-get install cvs and it says i already have the latest version..I have the same error : make: po
and when i install the gettext and cvs packages it work!
to install these packages : select System > Adm > click on Synaptic packages (or something like that) you will have a window : search for the packages and install them ( rigth click : install package and apply).
i will try this tomorrow and ill let you knowLibtool version mismatch between the libtool used to make the tarball and the one on your computer.
Delete m4/lib-* and m4/lt* and retry
