how to screencast desktop capture in 1.0.4 on Linux

Postby graysky » 19 Dec 2009 14:34

I have vlc 1.0.4 on Arch Linux and am trying to use vlc to capture a desktop movie. I've followed some guides to this effect like this one, but I think the dialogs have been updated in 1.0.4 and I can't see to get it working.

Code: Select all

$ vlc screen://
This brings up a new vlc window but I have no idea how to access the wizard that the guides refer to/this option doesn't exist in my vlc.

Use vlc screen:// --sout {soutoptions...}

And it doesn't do audio.
