Multicast bandwidth

Postby qbjorn » 10 Dec 2009 17:13

I want to setup a system streaming all my free DVB-T channels @ 4 multiplexes through vlc multicast.
One multiplex with 4 unscrambled channels works but if I start streaming a second multiplex everything pixels up at the receiving end.
It's as if the bandwidth was limited, but it's on a GBit network so I thought I could get at least 10 muxes without any problems.

I've tried it on 2 different linux machines with the same result - on the same network though.
Any ideas what could be the problem?

Multicast bandwidth may be more limitted either administratively, or due to hardware implementation (especially prevalent problem with WiFi).

It's easy to check. Just send the same streams as unicast to the receiver.
