DSS Server Troubles

Postby ids » 08 Dec 2009 19:55

I am trying to install a Darwin Streaming Server on a Ubuntu Server Edition machine. I created a sdp file that is in my content folder but I am not able to open the stream in either VLC or Quicktime remotely. The source of the video is from an encoder that is streaming via multicast over the network this server is on. I would like to use VLC to make sure the server is picking up the multicast stream but I only have a command line interface on the box. I know I can start VLC with a number of flags from cli but without any sort of gui on the box can I tell if the box is picking up the stream using VLC?

live555 debug: DESCRIBE failed with 500: cannot handle DESCRIBE response: RTSP/1.0 500 Internal Server Error
live555 debug: connection timeout

That's quite explicit. Your Dss server answer "Internal Server Error"

And this is a VLC forum, not a DSS forum.
