I see just about everywhere that VLC 1.0 now supports TrueHD, is this true? How? None of the trueHD I have tried to play works at all.

I also know that VLC at least has plans for VDPAU, are these real? How real? How to I test it out?

There are two movies I play ( m2ts 1080p ) and I get a green splotchy screen with garbage all over it. How do I fix this?

Thanks for any advice.

TrueHD works here on windows. Your FFmpeg is possibly too old.

Sorry, I thought this was the linux list. What version fo FFmpeg should work? Are there any special command line options to make this work?

You need a very recent version of FFmpeg for this. Around 1,5months ago.

I am running:

VLC 1.0.0 and FFmpeg SVN 19344

Should this work?

What command line should I use for passthru?

What about to passthru dts and 5.1 ac3?
