How to make the VLC process end with playback window

Postby e-tobi » 06 Jun 2009 02:17

Using VLC 0.9.9a from the console / script is kinda awkward. If I start VLC to play a video and close the playback window, the VLC process doesn't end. It will only end, with --play-and-exit or vlc://quit when the video is played to the end, but not, when the video window is simply closed.

I tried 1.0.0rc2 as well, but the behavior is exactly the same.

Is there any way to make the VLC process end when the playback window is closed?

Such feature is not implemented.

That's too bad! It should be.
