Is there a way to set up the special keys with VLC? I am running VLC media player 1.0.0-pre1 Goldeneye on ubuntu 9.04. I have the Logitech Wave keyboard and the media keys work fine with rhythmbox, I wanted to know if there is a way to set them up with VLC.
Edit...
I tried the hot key settings in preferences but it wont pick up the special keys.

What video codecs are you decoding?
Can you paste messages?
Are you on debian?

You always have messages, just ask them with messages dialog, with verbosity set to 2.
