Hi There,

I have installed Suse linux Enterprise Desktop 11 (64 bits) on my computer and I want to use VLC as my media player. Before this I had Enterprise Desktop 10 and on that it worked.
When I enter the http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/SuSE/11.1 at the installation sources I can choose VLC to install. However I get the message that "libdvbpsi.so.5()(64bit)" is necesary to install VLC. I cannot find the specified file and I am not that good with Linux yet to solve this.
Can anybody tell me how to solve this on a easy way?

Thanks,

Marcel

Hi,

It is pretty much the same situation it was in SLE10: You also need to add the repository of the openSUSE version.
Son in your case, besides adding the repository
http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/SuSE/11.1 (VLC)
also add
http://download.opensuse.org/distributi ... /repo/oss/

then the missing libraries should all be found.

In order to make this even easier, I just configured my build host to link the original libdvbpsi package in from openSUSE 11.1. so the original packet will be copied inside the VLC 11.1 repository.
I hope this is the only package missing for SLE (will have to somehow get a grip on a SLE11 install).

The update will be synched out in the next 24 hours I guess.
