Hello everyone

I am trying to install VLC on suse 10 to multicast some streams. I had a whole lot of dependencies, I installed many and now I have this:

libvlc2 = 0.9.9-1.6 is needed by vlc-noX-0.9.9-1.6.x86_64
libvlccore0 = 0.9.9-/1.6 is needed by vlc-noX-0.9.9-1.6.x86_64
libdbus-1.so.3()(64bit) is needed by vlc-noX-0.9.9-1.6.x86_64
libdvdnav.so.4()(64bit) is needed by vlc-noX-0.9.9-1.6.x86_64
libgnutls.so.13()(64bit) is needed by vlc-noX-0.9.9-1.6.x86_64
libgnutls.so.13(GNUTLS_1_3)(64bit) is needed by vlc-noX-0.9.9-1.6.x86_64
libpng12.so.0(PNG12_0)(64bit) is needed by vlc-noX-0.9.9-1.6.x86_64

These packages also had this dependency that I just cannot find! :(

rpmlib(PayloadIsLzma) <= 4.4.2-1 is needed by libselinux1-2.0.77-9.3.x86_64 ........I get this: libselinux.so.1()(64bit) is needed by dbus-1-1.2.4-5.1.x86_64
rpmlib(PayloadIsLzma) <= 4.4.2-1 is needed by dbus-1-1.2.4-5.1.x86_64

When I try installing this rpm -->
Anyone has any idea how to solve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! :(

I don't know WHAT Exactly you have as your base platform (there is no product called SUSE 10).

From describing your problem i ASSUME you want to install it on SUSE Linux Enterprise {Desktop|Server} 10

There I can only say: sorry, this is not going to work. To much of the original base libraries would need to be replaced and in respect of the official support you would get from Novell, this is nothing you want to do with this box (If you don't care, then you can as well go for the shorter life cycled openSUSE).

At best I will try to provide a repository for SLE11 (which is already out by now). So sorry: for SLE10 you'd have to build on your own, risking a complete loss of paid support.

Sorry, I don't know about RedHat, but with regards to the support question you might run into the same problem.
Or try SLES11: all the libraries are recent enough there and this should work out fine for you. (You should try to only ADD packages and not replace provided ones...)
