Cannot play .flv from youtube.com (debian powerpc)

Hi,

I'm unable to play downloaded .flv files from youtube.com. I know I was able to play them with some older version. Now I do have latest packaged version from debian experimental 0.9.8a-1 and when I start to play file it loads it, plays, but no sound or video. Other formats works just fine.

Is VLC right now able to play FLV format or not? Also the problem may be in debian version.

I'll be happy to provide more info if needed.

Either the codec inside the flv are not supported
Or your libavformat is too old to detect them correctly.

You could try with libavcodec and libavformat from experimental

This is kind of a reason that I started this topic - I'm trying to find out if VLC should be able to play FLV from youtube.com. And if yes, than I should probably submit bug to debian.

I'm using the highest version (I have all debian repositories enabled) of libavformat and libavcodec available.

vlc-nox package depends on and I assume these are versions VLC is using:
libavcodec51 0.svn20080206-14
libavformat52 3:0.svn20081115-1

but I also have libavcodec52 version 3:0.svn20081115-1 installed due to other dependencies.
