Need help with libVLC

Hi,
I'm creating a program with libVLC, but I have a little problem.
I'm using the 0.9.x libVLC version on Ubuntu 8.10.
I tried the tutorial http://wiki.videolan.org/LibVLC_Tutorial, but some videos can't be played.
In fact, I'm trying to load a free webtv http://www.france5.fr/images/emissions/ ... _256kb.asx that works very nice with the VLC Media Player, but the libVLC is unable to show the video. Nevertheless it works fine with others webtv's.
Do I have to add a specific option to the library for this specific video format?
Thanks.
(Sorry for my bad English :S)
