hole -> drop problem

Postby johnnyb » 13 Aug 2008 02:19

I'm trying to open a stream using VLC on a linux (fedora 6), box. Everything seems to go well until this line pops up in the terminal:

Code: Select all

[00000385] access_output_udp private debug: mmh, hole (147841635484807 > 2s) -> drop
Then everything seems to stop. Does anyone know how to get around this?

Thanks.

It means that the dates that the output is receiving, suddenly run into a Gap in the timeline. In this case a rather large gap (147841635 seconds). The output module does not know how to handle it. Debug logs and/or samples are needed to say anything more useful i think.

This seems to happen on OS X too, when I'm transcoding a MPEG-ES rtsp stream from an Axis IP camera.

I can provide the full verbose output, (vlc -vvv ), or logfiles, if you could tell me where I where I can find the logfiles ;)

Let me know what's needed to help me solve this problem, and I'll provide it!

I'm feeling the same problem with 0.8.6d. My source is a hw encoder providing an mpeg4 stream over RTP. This issue doesn't appear with the same Windows versión in exactly environment.

Any suggestions?
