vlc problems with volume control

I compiled version 0.8.6e and 0.8.6f but e. g. no volume control will be displayed (see screenshot). What is the problem? VLC or WX libs? Thanks for help. Greetings, Marcus.
wx version: 2.8.7

Use wx2.6 or use VLC-git.

Thank you for your help. Anyway it's not right that vlc 0.8.6f or 0.8.6e depends on wx >=2.8? Or do I need a patch for this?

0.8.6 needs wx = 2.6.x
0.9.0 works with wx2.8
