mic audio not coming through

Postby lctn » 19 May 2008 23:50

I get audio through my mic input locally, outside of vlc, but cannot get live audio to play or stream through vlc. Music files , and captured video work fine.
Here is the results of "aplay"

aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC260 Analog [ALC260 Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

This is the last command I ran:

vlc -vvv --color v4l:/dev/video0:norm=ntsc:size=640x480:channel=1:adev=/dev/dsp:audio=0 --sout '#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,acodec=mpga,vb=3000,ab=256,venc=ffmpeg{keyint=80,hurry-up,vt=800000},deinterlace}:std{access=udp,mux=ts,dst=239.255.12.13}' --ttl 12

Ultimately, I need to run audio from a sound board into "line", but am using the mic for testing. Any help, or good docs would be appreciated.
