Hi...
This ( The audio device "surround51" is already in use. ) is the error i become everytime i set audio device to 5.1 (i have a 5.1 system!)...
I use Ubuntu 8.04 32 Bit...kernel: 2.6.24-16 Generic...
any idea?
PS: i tried to search in forums, but i found nothing...

Have you tried changing audio output module in the preferences?

Yes, i tried them, but no-one working with 5.1...
With some other player it works...so i think it isn't a issue of my system...

Did you install pulse audio output ?

Hi, i noticed, the problem is not only with VLC...but also with other players, so Xine...and so on....some idea for this?
